Throw back Thursday - Geordie Shore!

Today's throw back Thursday goes to a small acting job I did back in March for the new promo advert for season 10 of Geordie Shore! Auditions for this role were held in the fantastic Camden Town in London at the MTV headquarters, the audition was so much fun and I landed the job! I was so excited to be working with MTV and the Geordie Shore Cast.

I spent a day filming in a studio somewhere in Angel, Islington. The whole day was an eye opening and amazing experience. All of the actors were very well looked after by MTV Crew and the cast were so friendly. I laughed for a lot of the day as I'm sure fans of the show can imagine! My role for the advert was the role of 'Gaz Girl 1' fans of the show will also understand what that pretty much means... For this role I 'had' to kiss Gaz on screen, ALOT! And to be perfectly honest it was easy because I was made to feel very comfortable by Gaz and the crew, we had a right laugh, something I won't forget in a hurry. I also got involved in a party scene at the end of the advert with the whole cast and some other actors which was loadssss of fun.

You can check out the advert below... And yes, I am the chavved up looking girl in the pink velour hoody.

Let me know what you think of the advert or if you're a fellow actor yourself.

P.S. The kissing noise is a sound effect!!! I never live that one down.

Tune in Tuesday

So it's that time again... This week's Tune in Tuesday goes to the insanely talented Years & Years!
I only discovered the London trio at the beginning of this year when they released the instant hit and former chart topper "King", a song which I was completely obsessed with.

Over the past week I have completely fallen in love with their album Communion which was released in June this year. The electronic pop trio is fronted by actor Olly Alexander, someone who you can't help but to fall in love with through his stunning vocals and music videos, like the one below...

The band headlined for Sam Smith and Clean Bandit last year and then went on to win the prestigious BBC Music Sound of 2015 award. An award that Mr Smith had previously won himself back in 2014.  My personal favourite track of the album is the incredible "Without", If you haven't heard this track already; do yourself a favour! Other notable tracks include: "Eyes Shut", "Shine" and of course "Desire". Overall Communion is a truly fantastic album which I believe is going to have many chart topping singles!

Throw back Thursday.

TBT to last month when I attended the Manchester based festival Parklife. For once the British weather actually didn't let us down and we had a relatively sunny weekend! Don’t get me wrong it wasn't quite Coachella... But my hair stayed straight... What more could I ask for?

I was lucky enough to be given a free VIP weekend ticket for the event through a friend and since I had never been before I found it the perfect opportunity to see what all the fuss was about. I wasn't sure what to expect at first, however when I saw the line up I knew I was in for a good time. The most random act I personally didn't expect to be there was James Bay, although I am SO glad he was. I was already a huge fan of his music and after watching his set in a boiling hot and sweaty tent I am even more in love with him as an artist and his music, he connected with everybody in that tent, it was a special performance that I will never forgot, thanks Mr Bay.

Other notable artists included: Jessie Ware, Ella Eyre, Nas, Rudimental, Labrinth, Disclosure, Ben Howard, Fatboy Slim, Jess Glyne, Mark Ronson, Annie Mac, DJ EZ, George Ezra, Jamie XX, Hannah Wants, Heidi, and Sinead Harnett. And yes, yes I did venture in to some of the 'house tents' which admittedly isn't really my thing... However, I actually really enjoyed most of everything I heard and I now have found a new appreciation for such music. A pleasant surprise Parklife... I'll be back.

Tune in Tuesday.

So for a while now I have wanted to start a regular blog post surrounding my latest music must haves and today is the day I begin these posts, EXCITING.

This week we're kicking off with an absolute treasure of an artist and his new album Wildheart. I am of course talking about the incredible R&B, soul singer that is Miguel.

I first came across the Grammy Award winning recording artist when I heard "Adorn", a track released back in 2012 from Miguel's second album Kaleidoscope Dream, this track blew my mind. I then heard his feature on Mariah Carey's 2013 release of "#Beautiful" and I fell in love with everything about Miguel. He's a lady's man for sure, his passionate and sexy lyrics say the things women want to hear but his music and raw, unique talent can be appreciated all.

Wildheart is Miguel's third album and notable tracks include, “whats normal anyway”, “face the sun”, and the INSANELY good “Coffee (F***ing)” which is a personal favourite of mine... I'd go as far to say that it is my favourite Miguel track to date! In the past Miguel has collaborated with the likes of J.Cole, Kendrick Lemar, A$AP Rocky and Ludacris to name a few. If you haven't already heard this album then SERIOUSLY treat yourself!!!

Oh and here is the video for Coffee... YOU'RE WELCOME LADIES!

London 4 Lyf.

So I am totally obsessing over London at the minute. Recently I have been travelling to London and back on quite a regular basis, and although the travelling gets tiring I am always over the moon when I get the chance to be there. Obviously being British London is just a huge deal, it's our Capital city after all. But London is more than that to me. There is just something about it.

Everywhere you go in London there is always something to explore, to learn or to appreciate. Around every corner there is some hidden treasure to find. On every street there are SO MANY people with so many different personalities and persona's. OK maybe this is just a 'city thing' to some, but I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone, which I'm sure you can imagine has it's downfalls, and where if I'm honest, nothing exciting ever really happens. I lived in Liverpool whilst I was studying at University and although I loved Liverpool, I dunno, London life just feels right. I long for the hustle and bustle of the tube, admittedly at 8:30am rush hour it's not the most pleasant experience but it is, however a rather spectacular sight. All of those people, with different personalities and persona's rushing around, trying not to spill their Starbucks double shot lattes (that they must have to see them through the day) on their papers for the morning meeting or last minute cramming on their MacBooks whilst blaring out their latest favourite Spotify playlist for the whole carriage to hear. London is a crazy busy place, but if you stop and look around you, there is so much to be excited about and to appreciate.

Some of my recent visits to London, with much more to come. LONDON I LOVE YOU.
